The Beaver County Humane Society received its corporate charter as a non-profit, tax exempt, charitable organization. Goals of Humane Society include providing shelter for homeless or stray animals, Finding homes for these homeless animals, Humanely euthanizing animals for which no home can be found, reducing the amount of homeless animals by controlling animal population through spaying and neutering, preventing or correcting cruelty to animals, enforcing laws for protection of animals, operating a lost and found for owners and lost pets, and providing free humane educational programs and information to the public.

The Humane Society does not survive on tax dollars. The annual budget is $300,000.00 with donations providing the principle amount of this funding.
